Oh Felicia where the fuck are we....?

"Prologue
Our friend China doesn't exactly approve of blogging and facebooking so we have had massive difficulties doing this....Managed to get around that issue for a while so here it comes...."

Beijing….hate it or love it! The smog, the people, the pulse, the smells…a constant bombing of impressions! Coming from tiny Stockholm nothing can quite prepare you for what to expect in Beijing.
The Tian’amnen square size of 30 soccer fields or the massive architecture of  the economically blooming capital of the east or how about the stunning Forbidden city. Our first days in China have certainly been…..breathtaking.

First blog took some time, as some thing aren’t exactly allowed in this country and thus banned….well you get the picture.
Like I mentioned, the city is HUGE! So to white stray dogs landed in the square of Beijing railway station clueless where to go. We’d hopped on a buss from the airport and landed there, no map and no idea of direction. Thank god for Mr mobile phone so we could arrange for pick up from the hotel…not that they were to glad to do that!
The Jet lag did it’s own on us but the first day was still spent by checking the neighbouring streets and eating noodles!

Waking up next day after 15h beauty sleep, better than any face cream, we felt like ourselves again…minus the hole in our stomach’s! We found a little noodle shop around the corner which we from day one made our favourite for breakfast and sometimes lunch or even dinner! Hey come on…it’s 8-12kr for a big bowl of noodle soup with meat or veggies and no they don’t put Chow Chow in it ;-)

Eager like little kids we are, we strolled down the streets to the The Forbidden City and fuck me!! Pardon my stinky French, is it an awesome sight!! Words alone can’t describe it, you got to see it! Just check our pic’s and you will understand.

Sure makes you halleluja!

We got some awesome dudes sharing our basement room, so we took one of them with us and went for “
Bar street
” to get some much needed alcohol….instead we were offered “wife for one night” for 100 Yuan in some dodgy bar down the strip! Big Mama of the girls was really trying to sell them to us. Needless to say we didn't take up on that and finished our drink’s and took a taxi back!

Day 3 saw us eat our noodle’s again ( those noodles rock!!!) then going to the Vietnamese embassy for Visa as we decided to go to Vietnam in about a weeks time! 560 Yuan and two visits later the application was on, back on Monday for pick up before taking the train to Xi’an! Probably not an understatement to say we walked 20km today and our feet are burning soar but I’m proud of us two, cause we actually stopped on the streets to try some dodgy local dishes from street carts serving…and man was it awesome food for 3kr!!!!!

The Chinese have some funny ways of doing things so I thought I’d mention a few of them. The traffic for instance….well it’s massive to say the least and that is understatement of the year, people cross the roads while the cars drive on them. Most times when it’s green for pedestrians they just keep on driving….laws of nature abide there.

Guards…..guards are everywhere. They have luggage scanners in the subway with guards checking everything that goes through =) And they have hilarious signs with what you shouldn’t bring on the metro e.g. grenades or guns….eh yeah someone expecting visit from Al Qaida…?
They have people in yellow jacket’s and megaphone’s pushing and screaming people in on the subway at rush time.

Well this folks is our first days of our Epic journey! Tomorrow I guess we’ll stroll to Beijing Zoo and visit the pandas or maybe the Lama Temple (not the bloody spitting animals, the religion). Stay tuned!
